SSF  Scorpion Strike Force Airsoft

Weapon System
Required Gear

What gear do I need?
When do I need to get my gear?

First off we are not too picky about gear.  We do not require you to go out and buy the same plate carrier as everyone else or a specific brand.  We find that to be too demanding for new members.  Also we aren't going to make you choose buying gear and paying rent.  We find it easier for you to choose your loadout that best accents your playing needs.  This improves preformance.
That being said we do want you to match color with gear.  We give around 12 months for new members to get their color of gear on par.

Gear Color: Dark Earth Tan/Coyote Brown
Uniform:Tan- Mutli Cam

Green- OD GRN/UCP (OD Combat shirt/UCP Pants)

Meeting the Team

We would hope you want to do this.

What you get

Yup that's right you get some goodies

New member expirence!

You have just completed Recon School (our evaluation course) and are now one of the newest memebers of SSF.  You may have questions like so now what do I do? what do I need? what do I get?  Well all the answers to your questions can be found below.

*SSF and its sponsers use the statment "All the answers".  In accordance to bylaw 11-78 of the airsoft web ferdaration we must clarify that we do not have all the answers, though we like to think we do.

In SSF everyone is a rifleman first.  So we require some form of AEG or GBB.  We do not care if you have AK varient or M4 varient or what ever else.  Just needs to be an AEG or GBB that has the ability to at least shoot in semi automatic. We will make exceptions for LMG weapon systems because some only fire in fully automatic.
Secondary weapons are not required unless you use an AEG that does not have semi automatic capabilities.  Secondaries are strongly encouraged but are not required as a new member.

The reason for the secondary being required for weapons systems with only full auto capabilities is that some areas in milsim play are semi only areas or semi only for riflemen.
Lastly most local milsim operations in our area allow you to use one high cap mag or unlimited mid caps.  We encourage you to get mid cap mags if you do not already have them.  If you only have a high cap mag you will be unable to participate in national milsim operations due to mag ristriction.

Primary Weapon System:  AEG/GBB (Model no ristriction)

Secondary Weapon System: Not Required (Preffered)
Extra Mags: Not Required (Mid Caps Encouraged/Preffered)

What type of gun do I need?

Do I need a secondary weapon?

Do I need mags?

Do I need a certain model of gun?

When you become a member on SSF you are entitled to a few things.  So what do you get?

You will be given a standard SSF velcro patch to wear on your person/gear.  We require this to be worn at OPs and games we play in.

You will get a SSF T-Shirt at your first practice.  These are just to rep the team around town!

Lastly after completing your first few OPs and TAC 1-3 with the team you will recieve an SSF Combat patch.  This patch can only be earned and is not just given out to new members.

Now that you are a member you can get to meet the team as as a member and not a canidate.  We will normally have some kind of induction to the team and so on.  For today you completed Recon School and tomorrow the training begins.

TAC 1 & TAC 2

Here is where you start your journey to

badass...er...y?

Now that you are a member of SSF it is time to become combat ready.  That all starts with TAC 1 & 2 (Tactical Application Course 1/2).  This training is something everyone goes through. Mastery of the basics is the key to success on the battle field.
These must be competed before you can part take in an OP with the team.  But don't worry we will normally make this your first practice with the team.

When you go through this course the enitre team will go through with you.  Every time this is done the entire team will take part.  It will only make us stronger as a unit and allows all of us to start working together as a team from day one.
What you will learn here is basic shooting tactics & positions, formations, unit hand signals, basic breaching and much more.
We don't expect people to be experts when they first join the team that's what practice is for.

Evaluation Course

But I already completed Recon School!!
No worry just read.

This is an annual evaluation that all members on SSF must complete.  Every year we hold an evaluation course of unit standards for individuals.  This evaluation is mostly combat shooting driven.  Each member will go through certain drills and tasks and be required to achieve a certain score.
Do not worry! You can not be kicked off the team for failing the evaluation course.  You will however have to re-do the sections you failed.  If you have any sections incomplete or with a failing mark you need to complete or pass them before participating in our next OP.
We will work with anyone to make sure they get through this. A downed member affects the whole team and we want everyone to have fun and be part of every OP we do.
